After 12 years of building startups in rooms full of people that didn’t look like me, I needed this.

I needed somewhere that felt warm and safe to ask for help. I needed people who understood what it felt like to be underestimated. I needed people I didn’t need to perform for.

In March of 2022, I asked a group of fellow women in tech to join me in a slack group. They were women I trusted & respected. They invited other women and non-binary people to join us. OGC was born.

Within weeks it became clear that this type of non-performative, career-accelerating space was needed by so many women who were the backbones of their industries, without support systems of their own. The community grew quickly - within a year we were 500+ members and had sent 75k+ messages amongst ourselves.

In our first year, members negotiated contracts, started businesses, had children, got raises, gave TED Talks, got laid off, went for hikes, screamed into the void, hired each other, and walked each other back from ledges. It was stunning.

Brick by brick, we’ll continue to build a space where inspired and driven women and non-binary people can feel safe while they pursue their ambitions. We are not anti-man, or anti-old boys club - we just believe everyone should have the same support systems.

Thank you for being a part of this - it means more to me than you’ll ever know.

With love and gratitude,
Mallory, OGC Founder
